This presentation to the Committee for Economic Development by Michael Deegan of Infrastructure Australia discusses major themes for action in Australia's infrastructure development covering key areas of national broadband, the energy market, international gateways, freight, water, cities and Indigenous services. He also outlines the challenges that are faced in developing infrastructure for the future. He outlines a reform and investment framework that could address these challenges. He discusses Infrastructure's National Priority List for infrastructure and how public–private partnerships can assist in delivering major projects. He also presents options that must be considered going forward.
