This speech to the GAMUT International Conference by Michael Deegan, Infrastructure Coordinator at Infrastructure Australia, discusses the role of the Infrastructure Coordinator and the importance of infrastructure development for productivity, especially in supporting the Asian markets. It covers sustainable transport initiatives in other parts of the world. It discusses efforts to create a national approach to rail and Infrastructure Australia's work to develop national strategies and promote statutory and economic reform in areas such as the national broadband network as well as roads, ports, freight, transport and cities.
