In 2011, Infrastructure Australia assessed the East Arm Port of Darwin Expansion project as ‘Threshold’ on the Infrastructure Priority List.

The proposed project involved the development of conveyors, stockpile storage facilities, and a second rail dump station for discharge of mining products. The Northern Territory government since deferred the project due to changes in demand modelling.
