Infrastructure Australia welcomes appointment of new board member Rod Hook

Infrastructure Australia has welcomed the Australian Government’s appointment of Mr Rod Hook to the Board of Infrastructure Australia.

Infrastructure Australia Chair Julieanne Alroe said: “On behalf of Infrastructure Australia, I am pleased to welcome the appointment of Mr Rod Hook, alongside Mr Peter Harris and Ms Samantha Hogg who were appointed last month.

“Mr Hook brings extensive infrastructure experience from across the public and private sectors, most notably as a former senior South Australian public servant and chief executive of the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure,” Ms Alroe said. 

Mr Hook was Chief Executive of South Australia’s Planning, Transport and Infrastructure Department from 2011 to 2014, and prior to that Deputy Chief Executive from 2007 to 2011.

He has also held positions as South Australia’s Commissioner of Highways, Rail Commissioner and Coordinator-General.

He currently manages consultancy firm Rod Hook & Associates, which provides strategic advice on infrastructure, transport, planning, environment, property and management.
