In 2013, Infrastructure Australia assessed the Brisbane Cross River Rail project as ‘Ready to Proceed’ on the Infrastructure Priority List.
The project would deliver 10 kilometres of twin single track rail tunnels under Brisbane’s CBD, and four new underground stations in Woolloongabba, Boggo Road, Albert Street and Roma Street. This is part of a broader set of works known as Cross River Rail, which will provide an 18 kilometre rail line and create two additional surface stations.
