In 2015, Infrastructure Australia recommended that the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal project be rated as ‘Threshold’ on the Infrastructure Priority List.

The project aims to create an import/export terminal with a direct rail freight link to Port Botany, taking freight off the roads. The project had previously been assessed, as early as 2010, but was deferred pending negotiations with the developer.
