The proposed Richmond Road upgrade between M7 Motorway and Townson Road at Marsden Park as part of North West Growth Centre Road Network Strategy aims to support development in the North West Growth Area.

Richmond Road is an arterial road that provides a key link between Blacktown and Windsor. Currently, road users experience heavy congestion, slow travel times and delays on Richmond Road, particularly at the intersection with Rooty Hill Road North. 

The project aims to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow by widening Richmond Road and upgrading intersections.

The Australian Government has committed $260m to the project.
