Rockhampton Ring Road

The Rockhampton Ring Road proposal is part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program. It is designed to provide an alternative to the existing section of the Bruce Highway through Rockhampton.

This proposal involves the construction of a 14.7 kilometre highway standard road to the west of Rockhampton. This highway would connect the Capricorn Highway at the town of Gracemere in the south, and the Bruce Highway at the Rockhampton suburb of Parkhurst in the north.

The proposal is intended to provide a third vehicular crossing over the Fitzroy River, and a new north–south route through Rockhampton with improved flood immunity.

On 15 April 2021 Infrastructure Australia concluded its independent evaluation of the Rockhampton Ring Road proposal.
