In 2013, Infrastructure Australia assessed the Tanami Road Upgrade project in the Northern Territory as ‘Threshold’.

The project involves upgrading a 703km outback road. It aims to support mining operations in the region, create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and reduce government road maintenance costs.
