In this document, we outline the information required to consider greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions targets in infrastructure proposals. Infrastructure proponents will need to provide information on GHG emissions as part of Stage 1, 2 and 3 submissions.
On 14 September 2022, the Climate Change Act 2022 (Cth) and the Climate Change (Consequential Amendments) Act 2022 (Cth) were enacted by the Australian Government. As a result, Infrastructure Australia will take into account Australia’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets in:
- our advice to government
- infrastructure plans and audits
- infrastructure evaluations.
