The February 2016 update to the Infrastructure Priority List was released on 17 February 2016 along with the 15 year Australian Infrastructure Plan.
Infrastructure Australia (IA) has responsibility under the Infrastructure Australia Act 2008 to evaluate infrastructure proposals and develop the Infrastructure Priority List.
This is a rigorous prioritisation process that ensures the Infrastructure Priority List is a credible pipeline of qualified potential infrastructure solutions.
The Infrastructure Priority List is made up of two broad groups—Projects and Initiatives.
- Projects are potential infrastructure solutions for which a full business case has been completed by the proponent and positively assessed by the IA Board.
- Initiatives are potential infrastructure solutions for which a business case has not yet been completed. Initiatives are identified through a collaborative process between nominators and IA, using IA's Audit and other data as evidence.
The List is updated regularly and further additions will be available at Infrastructure Priority List.
