This assessment brief outlines the Victorian Government's proposal to widen four sections of the M80 Ring Road, which links the West Gate Freeway and Princes Freeway with the Western Freeway, Calder Freeway, Tullamarine Freeway, Hume Freeway and Greensborough Highway, from two to at least three lanes in each direction. The project aims to reduce freight transport delays and transport costs, improve economic efficiency and provide safer travel conditions for freight and passenger vehicles. The Victorian Government is seeking Commonwealth funding for the project.
The Office of the Infrastructure Coordinator recommended that the project be included on the Infrastructure Priority List at Threshold, with conditions.
