This assessment brief outlines the Victorian Government's plan to upgrade the Intelligent Transport System (which manages information, communication and control systems to manage traffic flows) on the Monash Freeway (M1) between High Street and Warrigal Road. The upgrade will improve operational performance, effective capacity and safety on the Monash Freeway and also to provide travellers with a high-level, consistent user experience along the freeway. The Victorian Government is seeking $19.7 million in Commonwealth funding for the project.
